In the Catholic Community of Billerica, we are doing all we can to establish a safe environment. This includes having all our adult volunteers trained in the Protecting God’s Children (Virtus) program. This one-time training will provide useful information to protect our children and vulnerable adults by equipping those trained to establish safe environments, raise participants’ awareness of the signs of abuse, and what responsibilities an adult volunteer for the Church may have legally as a mandated reporter.
You may attend the Virtus training in Billerica, or attend a training at another location if it is more convenient for your schedule. Please notify the Catholic Community of Billerica when you have completed this training, so we may update our records. Bring a copy of your training certificate, that you will receive at the conclusion of your training, to the St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish Office at One Grace Avenue in Billerica Center (behind St. Theresa Church).
Thank you for your attention to this important training and to ensure that our records are accurate.
Please contact the CAP Team for more information.
