Father Jean was joined on the altar to celebrate Mass by Fr. Gerry Osterman, Fr. John Molloy, Fr. Emmanuel and Deacon Al .
He was ordained on June 14, 2008 at the Cathedral of Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus (Lisieux) in the Archdiocese of Garoua Cameroon and celebrayes his 15th year of ordination to the priesthood this year. He also recently graduated from Newburgh Theological Seminary, College of the Bible in Newburgh Indiana, with a PhD in Biblical Studies. Fr. Jean completed and defended his doctoral dissertation - The Dry Bones: Narratological Study of Ezekiel 37: 1-4.
The reception in the Parish Hall was a wonderful celebration filled with fellowship, full bellies and even a bit of dancing! Father Jean was pleased to share a taste of home – Cameroonian food - with those in attendance. Many sampled ndole, fufu, eru, and plantains while The Women’s Club once again outdid themselves with a delicious spread of Italian favorites such as stuffed shells and meatballs to name a few.
We congratulate Fr. Jean and pray for his continued ministry here in Billerica. Our parish of Saint Matthew the Evangelist is blessed to have Fr. Jean ministering among us.
